Charles Pabst – Featured Artist in Santa Fe
April 1 - April 30
52 Years in the Making
This month Santa Fe celebrates Charles Pabst, spotlighting his work and his life.
For most of his life, Charles has been enriched by his art, and by his art, has enriched the world.
Charles Pabst began his life on May 10, 1950, right in the middle of the 20th century, and he began drawing and painting as soon as he could hold a pencil or brush. Completing his first serious work at the age of 14, he never stopped painting, and has moved now well into the 21st century, his styles and subjects still evolving with boldness and vision. It is the emotion in his work that has kept his name and remarkable work in the forefront of the art world for decades.
“I guess with all these years of practice, I’ve finally learned something. I still pinch myself some days that I have been able to support myself and my family for these 50 years by doing what I love. Every day is new, every painting is new. I’m still having fun.”
As his style has progressed over the years, there is always evidence of this deep spirit of joy and peace.
