From snappy flamenco dancers and energetic caballeros to the gentle slope of a woman’s shoulders as she sits at at a piano\, Manuel’s work is more suggestive than literal\, letting the viewer interpret for himself the emotions displayed. \nBorn and raised in Mexico\, Manuel moved from town to town\, giving him a rich source of inspiration as he began to paint the scenes of everyday life. “My subjects\, mostly people in the traditional Hispanic scene\, include Flamenco dancers\, women with sombreros\, tango dancers\, etc.” Generally using his wife as his model\, Avendaño enjoys portraying the delicate beauty of the feminine figure in his work. \nClick here to see more of Manuel’s work.  \n
