His talent for sculpting led him to work as a commercial sculptor/engraver for the private mints. Bryan's work is part of the permanent collection of The Smithsonian Institution. Bryan Bridges has sculpted engraved portraits in base relief of our great American patriots, many of our presidents, political figures, our warriors, sports greats, and many entertainment stars, from Judy Garland and Clark Gable to Elvis.
"I created the commemoratives for Jack and Bobby Kennedy, when they were running for office, as well as Martin Luther King. I was still an apprentice engraver when I made the Memorial Coin to Jack Kennedy that moved Teddy Kennedy to tears when he saw it.
At present, I am sculpting a series of desert wildlife in bronze. I strive for a feeling of transcendence in my work; the magic that happens when we come in contact with a real work of art."
