“Giclèe” is from a French word meaning “spray”. In the Giclèe process, a fine stream of pigment-based inks is sprayed onto archival canvas, producing an effect which mimics the detail of an original oil painting.
With the advent of this new process, the art of fine printing has become even more precise. Exact calculations of hue, value and density direct the 12-cartridge full-color pigment ink system utilizing a dual print head containing 30,720 nozzles. This process yields a gamut of over 4 million possible colors. The artist’s color approval and input are essential for creating the final custom setting for each edition.
As with any valued fine piece, it is recommended that this print be displayed in indirect lighting conditions and away from any contact with moisture.
Charles Pabst individually enhances each print, creating a unique piece, subtly different from any other. The finished artwork is a combination of the latest technology as well as the actual touch of the master’s hand to produce something of incomparable beauty and value.
