Pewter Vessel SG54 (Small)

by Fred Ortiz

Size: 4.75x3.75
Medium: Pewter

In the 1600’s the pueblo of Nambe was known for the beautiful vessels and vases made in silver. Traders came from all parts of the southwest to trade with the Natives for their work. It is in recognition of what the people made so long ago that I decided to design this edition of pewter vases. I was born and raised in the village of Nambe, adjacent to the pueblo, my mother was a teacher there and I grew up collecting arrowheads, pieces of pottery and pieces of silver at the pueblo.
