Anna Carlson was born and raised in Poland. At a very young age, her gift and passion for art was evident. Her elementary school teacher would often take her to galleries and encourage her to pursue a career in art. But the communist climate of Poland did not allow for someone to survive \"merely\" as an artist, so she decided instead to study business and economics. But the dream in her could not be squelched. In fact, it grew...

\r\nShortly after graduating, her desire for experiencing a different culture and way of life drew her to move to Germany, where she later met her husband, and then eventually to the United States where she now currently resides. It was in the freedom of the United States that her suppressed childhood dream of becoming an artist was allowed to fully blossom and grow.

\r\nAnna is a self-taught, abstract expressionist artist living and working in Arizona. She loves the freedom of abstract art because it often allows the viewer to see the image with their heart rather than just their eyes. Anna believes one's personal journey and history is the most powerful aspect of a person. Because of this, her desire as an abstract artist is to pull the viewer's own story into the canvas as they see it with their own eyes.
\r\n\"I like to try different techniques and am constantly learning something new in the process of creating my art. I choose the abstract art style because it gives me freedom and is less controlled. Variety and change excites me. I love adventure, meeting new people, and discovering new cultures. But I also need some organized, more controlled moments in my life. Those two elements\u2013spontaneity and control\/organization\u2013are very important to me in creating complete harmony in my art forms.

\r\nMy art is not about one specific subject. It is a window into my soul. I am often surprised and excited myself to see what is going to be revealed at the end of the creation. It is like a river that constantly flows and changes. It is very simple and pure from the outside, but deep beneath the surface, it is more than just art. It is life.\"
