\"\"\"\"<\/a>Manuel Avendano’s provocative images of Mexican life capture both the fiery passions\u00a0and the gentle sentiment of his culture. From snappy flamenco dancers and energetic caballeros to the gentle slope of a woman’s shoulders as she sits\u00a0at at a piano, Manuel’s work is more\u00a0suggestive than literal<\/em>, letting the viewer interpret for himself the emotions displayed.<\/p>\n

Born and raised in Mexico, Manuel moved from town to town, giving him a rich source of inspiration as\u00a0he began to paint the scenes of everyday life. “My subjects, mostly people in the traditional Hispanic scene, include Flamenco dancers, women with sombreros, tango dancers, etc.”<\/em> Generally using his wife as his model, Avenda\u00f1o enjoys portraying the delicate beauty of the feminine figure in his work.<\/p>\n
