Meet Santa Fe local painter, Manfred Rapp, during the opening of his solo show “Pura Vida”

A world traveler and observer, Manfred Rapp will take from locations that he has actually visited, and reconfigure the imagery in a way that reflects what many could consider the “Golden Age” of each scene. Old Santa Fe, bejeweled with classic Pontiacs and Chevrolets. Jazz Bars teeming with energy and life. The Italian Riviera and all of the captivating colors found within it. Manfred strives to immortalize each scene with the simple yet profound emotions they evoke.
“Pura Vida” in its most general sense, means “pure” or “simple” life. For many, it is a way of living. Unencumbered by the worries and woes of what disadvantages one faces, this mentality focuses on the good in life. The simple pleasures that bring us together. Rapp’s artwork encompasses this ideology by depicting the beauty of each setting, and the unpretentious realities that come with them.
