His distinct color palette, subject matter and technique resonate with a growing audience. Having an appetite for self exploration in a modern world, his intention is to exploit the hidden meaning in the simple beauties of life's nuances. His brush is attracted to create bold images of poetic skies and surrealistic landscapes. His work has developed over the past years into a complex personal vocabulary of imagery that stirs emotion and engages the intellect.
"My most recent work focuses on the various metaphors a tree provides. A tree is a powerful symbol. It can represent protection and wisdom, personify a human being or teach us about our past. 'Family Tree' is a body of work concerned with the idea of what a family is and how we are all connected. I have combined the abstract nature of cumulous clouds, my favorite subject matter, with the structure of a tree to create a visual mystery.
Reid graduated from Arizona State University with a degree in Fine Art in 2005, and in 2006 was featured on ABC as a "Sunday Artist of the Week". In March 2012 he was invited to be a featured artist at SXSW in Austin, Texas, as part of a national tourism event. His artwork also hangs in City Hall in Santa Fe, and most recently two pieces were chosen to hang in the Governor's Mansion.
